Tagxedo is another word cloud generator, similar to Wordle, post 97, with some additional useful features. Some of these features are:
1. to be able to save directly within the application as a jpg.No third party software needed
2. to choose various shapes and predesignated designs to customise word clouds.
3. to have the words you enter create a word, eg descriptive characteristics of a book character, or characteristics of a child, useful for star of the week.
4. up load your own jpgs to turn into word clouds
5. change the text colour and font to personalise your own word cloud.
How can you integrate this in your classroom?
Tagexdo works on words, so any thing that requires listing words. Year 2 used Tagxedo last year for their IPC topic, Communication words in the air topic. A friend in NZ gets his children to write their spelling words and then turn them into designs.
English - other words to use instead of, literacy, IPC knowledge harvest, book studies, presentations, self esteem character building, star of the week character traits.
