Tag Galaxy is an online image generator, that springboards into Flicker’s Creative Commons. Translated into non geek speak Tag Galaxy allows you to create a montage of images in an oval shape. The images used in the montage come from Flicker and are under the creative commons licensing. The owners of these images are happy to share and for their images to be used.
To create a montage you enter your search term in the box. Tag Galaxy then returns a list of subfolders / subsets that look like planets with the keyword broken down. Eg New Zealand breaks down to nature, sea, South Island, sun rise, water etc. As you click on each of the sub folders floating around hence the name Tag Galaxy, the number of photos available from Flicker appears. As you build your montage you can add/ click on any number of sub folders / planets offering other photos. To complete the montage click in the centre of the largest planet your keyword
Once the montage has been created then you will need to use Gadwin Print Screen ( ref post 101 )to capture your creation as a jpg. As a jpg your creation has a multitude of uses. How can I integrate this into my classroom?
