Author Stream is a third party aplication. This means that you upload your files to the online aplication held out in the ether. Author Stream then generates html code to allow you to embed your file, your PowerPoint presentations in your blog.
Author Stream is one of many online aplications that generate html. I've used it on many occassions. its free,and its easy to use. the downside is that once the PowerPoint presentation has run you get left with the sponsors details, and in no doubt how to go about signing up.
From time to time Author Stream do email you with updates, ideas and improvements etc, probably 1x a month. For their infrequent updates I can live with the sponsor propoganda on the last slide. ;-)
Here's how.
Join up log in
On the opening page, click on the Upload Powerpoint tab, then browse for your PowerPoint presentation from where ever you have saved it.
Uploads do take time, and are dependent on the traffic, the numbers in the queue ahead of you and the broadband speed. Waiting for connectivity in this day and age seems such a trail. I waited about 1 - 2mins for Trang's rockets.
This process returns on the left hand side of the window html code to share/ embed with your friends.Copy the code. Open your blog post and paste in
Or scroll down the page to Account
and My presentations
and copy the string of code from your previous presentations.
