52. Photostory 3

PhotoStory  3 is part of the Microsoft stable therefore a free download onto your computer and used as a stand alone application. No internet required after the initial download. PhotoStory is a multimedia application which means you can use text, images, music and voice to create a presentation. The end product, the presentation cais viewed in movie format. This application works with digital still images only NOT video which gives the programme it's simplicity and a good place to start if you are a beginner. Your students can of course draw pictures in any number of the drawing programmes available and export these as jpgs to be used in PhotoStory. (Ref post 101 Gadwin screen capture)

While PhotoStory is a very easy programme to use, it is regarded as a blank canvas application. The user  creates and personalises  the presentation. There are no libraries of artefacts like other multimedia applications, only tools to create with. This fosters creativity and individuality.  Part of PhotoStory's simplicity are the arrows allowing the user to toggle backwards and forwards between various sections eg importing photos to text to music etc.

Enjoy Year 5 2011- 3 Christmas Movies, especially the drawings.
