55. Shape Collage

Shape Collage is a stand alone collage creators which means you need to download onto your computer, which the tech guys can do for you. You are not dependent on being on line. While this application is very similar to Picasso, Picasso operates on line, and each has  advantages and disadvantage. Like Picasso, Shape Collage uses photos, or children's own drawings that have been saved as a jpg. Gadwin Screen capture allows you to do this ( ref post 101). Shape Collage uses images that are on your computer, in comparison to Picasso which uses images already loaded online.

Shape Collage needs to be downloaded onto your computer by the tech guys.
Some of the features include:
Previewing your collage before you create
Being able to choose a variety of shapes and lettering, you write the word to put the images into.
Shape collage allows you to see all images up to 150. However I have found up to 24 is a good number without the size of the images being diminished. The application makes the images smaller so that no image almost covered over.
The slider on the right hand side that allows you to condense or separate your images

Two small hiccups:
When you click create this becomes a save strategy first  so the application flicks you to the folder where your images came from. Once you click save Shape Collage then builds and creates your collage for you.
The programme is not lightening fast, it takes a few seconds extra for the photos to load. Be patient the results are worth it I believe

Tue and I are using this currently with Year 3.
